PART 1: THE OLD MAN THEY THREW OUT OF THE WEDDING
PART 1: THE OLD MAN THEY THREW OUT OF THE WEDDING

The ballroom looked like something from a movie.
Crystal chandeliers sparkled overhead.
Champagne flowed freely.
A live band played softly in the background.
Everyone seemed happy.
Everyone except one man.
At the very back of the reception sat an elderly man wearing an old brown suit.
His jacket looked decades old.
His shoes were worn down at the heels.
And he sat completely alone.
Guests kept glancing in his direction.
"Do you know him?"
"No."
"Maybe he's someone's grandfather."
"He doesn't look like he belongs here."
The whispers grew louder.
Eventually, one of the bridesmaids approached a security guard.
"I think that man is in the wrong wedding."
The guard nodded.
But before he could move, the groom noticed the commotion.
Confident and smiling, he walked across the ballroom.
People watched curiously.
The groom stopped beside the old man's table.
"Sir," he said politely.
"I think there's been a mistake."
The old man looked up.
"No mistake."
The groom's smile faded.
"This is a private event."
The old man remained calm.
"I know."
Several guests laughed.
The groom crossed his arms.
"I'm going to have to ask you to leave."
Applause broke out around the room.
Someone shouted:
"About time."
The old man slowly stood up.
The ballroom grew quiet.
For a moment, everyone expected an argument.
Instead, he reached into his jacket.
Pulled out a sealed envelope.
And walked toward the bride and groom's table.
The groom frowned.
"What is that?"
The old man placed the envelope directly in front of the bride.
"For you."
The bride hesitated.
Then opened it.
Three seconds later...
The envelope slipped from her fingers.
The music stopped.
The room fell silent.
And for the first time all night...
May you like
The groom looked afraid.
To be continued...
